Modified the tie rods so they are now long enough to adjust the wheels to a reasonable alignment.
After a quick by-eye adjustment it was off around the block. Amazingly enough the alignment is pretty good for a by-eye job as it didn't pull to either side and the wheel is right in the middle.
After a very short blat around the block I'm fairly sure a lot of the bump steer has gone but I can't say much more.
All the angles at the front look a lot better, with about 3 deg. neg. camber on the left wheel now instead of 5+ and the tie rod ends shouldn't bind up any more.
I'll need to get it corner weighted again and properly aligned sometime. |
